GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS
- Attend classes regularly, as the class will not be rescheduled if missed by the student. (Exceptions will be made for chronic illnesses and dire circumstances on an individual basis when informed in advance). Any class missed due to unavailability of the teacher will be compensated for.
- Be punctual
- Spend time on practice and preparation for class
- Be disciplined and dress properly
- Keep mobile phones in silent mode on the premises of the studio and during online classes.
- Respect the teacher and other students and avoid foul and abusive language.
- Plan for either 4 classes (Three 45min one on one lessons & One 1hr ensemble lesson) or 4 1hr long group lessons as arranged with the August School of Music.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The August School of Music will be closed for 4 weeks in a year.
- Winter Break : December 15, 2024 – January 3, 2025
- Summer Break : May 15, 2025 – May 31, 2025
PERFORMANCES & EXAMINATIONS
- Events organized by the August School of Music such as workshops, masterclasses and the Annual Student Concerts are part of the total musical development of the student. Therefore, participation is mandatory.
- Students will be encouraged to perform at any opportunities presented to them outside the studio. However, please inform the teacher of such opportunities in advance to ensure that high standards are maintained.

Students will undergo an annual assessment of progress.

Students will be encouraged to prepare and appear for examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, London or the Trinity College of Music, London.
PAYMENT
- The tuition fee must be paid in full monthly, before the 10th of every month. The full monthly tuition fee is applicable for the school break months, May and December, as well.
- The current fee structure is applicable for all students since 1st April, 2023.
- For those joining on or after 1st April 2023, a refundable caution deposit of one month fees should be paid along with the first month fees.
- Non-payment of the monthly tuition fee or absence for one month without prior intimation will result in the student’s name being taken off the roll along with a potential loss of the caution deposit.
- Every June, an Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) of Rs.1,750/- is payable to the August School of Music, irrespective of how long the student has been associated with the school. It should be paid before June 10th along with the fees for June. This goes towards the maintenance of the studio, masterclasses, concerts & workshops.
- If the student decides to discontinue classes, 1 month notice should be given to the studio. If not, they will lose the caution deposit.
The August School of Music reserves the right to ask any student lacking in discipline, commitment & co-operation, in the Studio’s activities & aims, to withdraw from the Studio.
